SOFT 2012 Annual Meeting

The Society of Forensic Toxicologists welcomes its members and guests to Boston, Massachusetts - Marriott Copley Place - Back Bay in 2012 for our annual meeting - beginning July 1st and ending July 6th. Come celebrate our nation’s independence on July 4th with hundreds of your friends and half a million Bostonians and other New Englanders. We encourage you to come earlier, stay later and enjoy all that New England has to offer! In the heart of the summer, Boston pulses with excitement. Enjoy daily activities at the Harbor Fest, schedule a whale watching tour or one of Boston’s famous water/land duck tours, a walk along the beach, a trip to the mountains of New England or catch a baseball game at the Boston Red Sox’s historic Fenway Park. Enjoy Boston’s night life; one that is as diverse as you can imagine. The North End’s little Italy, Chinatown and Boston’s Irish Pubs are just a few of the wonderful examples of the variety of food and culture that you will discover. Fine dining continues with premier restaurants ranging from the best steak cutleries, to the freshest of seafood. Boston clam chowder… need we say more?

The Marriott Copley Place is located conveniently in downtown Boston, where you are only minutes away from the Back Bay, Fenway Park and the historic streets surrounding Beacon Hill. Enjoy a walk along the famed Charles River or the street performers as you shop at Faneuil Hall.

No one celebrates Independence Day like Boston and we look forward to sharing this experience with its 600,000 + residents on the 4th of July. Boston and its citizens played a key historical role in our nations fight for independence. One of the first symbols of our nation’s willingness to fight for independence has been romantically captured in history. 237 years ago Paul Revere made his famous ride from Boston to Lexington (forever remembered as “Patriot’s Day” and celebrated every April as a civic holiday) to warn John Hancock and Sam Adams of British military troop movement. The British had been instructed to disarm the militia. Shortly after the battle of Lexington and Concord ensued and the infamous “shot heard around the world” began our nation’s war of independence.
